When preparing for presentations, speeches and meetings I almost always hand-write rather than type – especially if it’s a 1st draft.  I felt that I was able to produce a better “product” and it helped me with editing and iterative improvements as well as remembering key points .  I’ve been doing this for years and wondered if my instincts were correct so I looked it up. Maybe there was something to all those handwriting drills that baby boomers and Gen Xers suffered through in their youth. And maybe all that screen time the younger generations enjoy might have an effect we hadn’t anticipated.
